Georgian Black Enamel Mourning Stickpin with Flower Head, Circa 1830s

Gilt stickpin topped with a small flower head of black enamel or jet petals around a center. Black jewelry was worn by both men and women through the formal stages of Georgian mourning, and stickpins held a gentleman's cravat in place. Shows light wear.
