French Gilt Metal Crucifix with Instruments of the Passion under Glass Dome, Circa 1880s-1910s

Ornate gilt metal standing crucifix hung with the instruments of the Passion, including the ladder, lantern and spear, on a rocky Calvary base, displayed under its original glass dome on an ebonized wooden plinth. Domed crucifixes like this were the centerpiece of French home altars and were often given at marriages. Shows wear consistent with age; dome removable.
