Antique Fraternal Lodge Ballot Box with Black and White Balls, Circa 1880s-1920s

Dark-stained wooden lodge ballot box with a sliding drawer of black and white voting balls and a hand-hole for secret voting. Fraternal lodges voted on new members this way, and a single black ball could reject a candidate, which gave us the word "blackballed." Shows wear consistent with age.
