Georgian Coral-Lined Hairwork Mourning Brooch, Circa 1810s-1830s

Rectangular brooch bordered with a row of coral beads around a beaded inner frame and a glazed panel of hair. Coral was believed to protect the wearer, and this pairing of coral with hair is characteristic of late Georgian sentimental jewelry. Shows wear consistent with age.
