Folk Art Abalone and Seashell Crucifix Shrine, Circa Mid-20th Century

Folk art shrine built from a large iridescent abalone shell enclosing a mother-of-pearl crucifix, surrounded by smaller seashells and coral on a marbled base. Shell shrines were popular seaside souvenirs and home devotional pieces. Shows light wear.
