Antique Horn-Handled Three-Blade Bloodletting Fleam, Maker Marked, Circa 1800s-1850s

Three-blade folding fleam with horn side plates and a maker's stamp on one blade. Pocket fleams like this were carried by country doctors and veterinarians to bleed patients and livestock, a practice rooted in the ancient theory of balancing the body's humors. Shows wear, patina and age to the horn.
