Antique Dimitrino & Co Blum Pacha Egyptian Cigarette Tin c.1900s-10s Cairo
Historic Egyptian cigarette tin for “Blum Pacha, Petit Format” by Dimitrino & Co. of Cairo — one of Egypt’s largest and most important cigarette manufacturers, founded in 1886 by Dimitrios Dimitriou and Ioannis Emmanuelidis. The tin’s reverse panel features a detailed period illustration of the actual Dimitrino factory building, inscribed with the founding year 1886, located opposite the legendary Shepheard’s Hotel in Cairo.
Vivid Belle Époque-era artwork depicts a galloping camel rider beneath the Ottoman flag against a desert and pyramid backdrop. Shows honest wear with surface tarnish and some gilt loss, while the artwork and lettering remain vivid and fully legible — a documented, historically significant piece for serious tobacciana and Egyptian cigarette history collectors.
